I know Tim McKnight and I are going to Ervin's class later in the month and I was curious if anyone else is going?

I might stop by for a day or two just to "visit".

Brock,
before you leave home...sit down with your wife...have a long talk...maybe even video tape it...when you get back...you won't be the same Brock that you now are...

BOY are you going to have FUN!!!!

Why's that? Ervin has that effect on people, or you think I will pay for it being gone for a week and leaving her to fend for herself with the kids for a week?

I agree! This class will challenge everything (well, not everything) you
think you know about these instruments we build, perform a core-dump
of lutherie knowledge, and leave you more inspired, challenged, and well,
enlightened that you could hope for.

Oh, and you'll probably spend the first couple months after you get home
just making jigs and changing your methods.

In other words, Ervin's gonna blow your mind!

Cheers,
-Dave

P.S. Stock up on a few good jokes!

I'm tellin ya...you won't even comb your hair the same way!     You don't get it do you?...You're goin to Ervin's...it's like aging 20yrs in one week...you'll have gray hair... everythings gonna change...Things are gonna smell different, taste different, look different...a whole new Planet! It's like you opened your eyes for the first time. Only those of us who have been there can understand what I mean...NOW...you too will understand!

I can only say that it is equivalent to... him being YODA and we are his Jedi in training! It's awesome...just ask Judy Threet, Cathy Wingert, Mike Greenfield, Mario Beauregard, Taku Shaksuta, Steve Kaufman and a host of other Master Luthiers...they will tell you likewise!

Tell my buddy I said HI! I am going to try to drop by if I can get a reasonable flight... if not I will try to catch up with him at Tacoma.

Have FUN!Dave-SKG38852.6514467593

Brock, can you give those of us who are stuck at home a report when you are finished with the class? I am trying to decide what my next learning experience will be and this sounds like a great one.

Hey Dave, that would be really cool if you can stop by. I would love to meet you in person.

"In other words, Ervin's gonna blow your mind!" I wish I had one to blow ;)

"you'll have gray hair..." Yikes, mine is already gray.

Brock: Are you packed yet?

No, I am shipping a guitar today. Showing Ervin my guitars comes with no small amount of fear.

Ervin will be facilitating the steel string guitar listening session at the GAL convention next month. He's gonna take it to a whole new level, I'm sure, and we will learn a lot.
